Your heart lives in my own, and the hearts of our loving family. I cherished the times that we spent together, as well as the times we were apart through the funniest interactions, and the most humble reflections. I love you Grandpa. That's what it is, what it was, and what it always will be.

Dear Mrs Hoben, Lisa, and Karen,
I am deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Hoben's passing. Many will miss him, his wonderful smile, positive attitude, and his jovial spirit. I always enjoyed being around him and I have many fond memories of him as I grew up in the old Hawthorne Subdivision. Dora, Lisa and Karen, I was so sorry to hear of the illness and the passing of Mike. Mike always had a kind word for a friend and a heartfelt smile for everyone. People like Mike are what made our Hawthorne Community a special one. Sorry I was not able to make the visitation or funeral but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dora,
I just heard about Mikes passing. I'm so sorry I didn't know it sooner. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We go back a long way and even if we didn't see each other very often I always considered you and Mike as very dear friends. He will be sadly missed.

Sending love, light and prayers to the whole family. When I think of Uncle Mike I think of humor :-) It was always so fun to watch him and Gran interact and crack their smart aleck comments! Uncle Mike was always interested in what I was up to when I saw him at family gatherings and genuinely showed that interest for everyone I saw him interact with. A light-hearted, kind, beautiful soul. My deepest and sincerest condolences for the family. He will be missed!

Love,
Kael

Mike was a wonderful individual. I will cherish the times we worked together at the games. I also will miss the "dots" candy that he brought to me at all the games we worked together. Mike rest, you deserve it. I will miss you tremendously. Dora, Praying God's Blessings on you and your family.

Dear Dora, Lisa and Karen- we are all saddened to learn of Mike's passing, truly a great guy. Our memories of Lake Chetek in northern Wisconsin are not complete without Mike- playing the drums with the "band", shouts of "yahoo mountain dew" when he landed a big fish and the joy he spread while spending time with his family and friends. Please accept our condolences and take comfort in remembering the good times with this fine man.

I am so sad to hear that Mike passed away. I can't think of Rock Island without Mike. It was early 1950s that he and his family moved into our neighborhood. I've had a image of his positive smile and sometimes impish trickster chuckle for about 65 years. I'm going to miss him. He has been a friend always and someone I could count on. Dora, may God's comfort and peace be yours in the midst of sorrow and grief, and the same to all his family.

We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was truly a people person! I will always remember running into him at Hy-Vee with his list of groceries to get. He always took the time to talk and ask how we were doing. Always had a smile!
