Uncle Mike was always interested in what I was up to when I saw him at family gatherings and genuinely showed that interest for everyone I saw him interact with. I am so sad to hear that Mike passed away. I can't think of Rock Island without Mike. It was early 1950s that he and his family moved into our neighborhood. I've had a image of his positive smile and sometimes impish trickster chuckle for about 65 years. I'm going to miss him. He has been a friend always and someone I could count on.
