To Peggy and family: I am so sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I didn't know about this until Friday evening when I just happened to pick up the paper and saw the funeral announcement, or otherwise I would've attended the visitation and/or service. Everyone who knew Dale knows that he was a great guy and would help anybody who needed help. I've known Dale since 1980 when we worked together at RIPD, and he always helped me, and I've known Peggy since she was in my class at school. Peggy and Dale are great people, and Dale will be missed by everyone who knew him. God must need Dale in Heaven so he can help people there now.

The class of RIHS 68 has lost another one of its really good guys. I only occasionally talked with Dale but he was always cordial and helpful. He was a true public servant. My condolences to his family and close friends.

Dusenberry spent his whole life watching over and protecting others; as a husband he watched over and protected his wife Peggy, as a father his children, as a police officer the people of Rock Island, as a public safety officer the students of Augustana College, as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard the entire State of Illinois. Now God has called him home to watch over and protect him. Being in law enforcement for over 45 years I have seen my share of death and understand its effect on family. Mrs. Dusenberry my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I truly believe God has taken your husband home. Please accept my deepest and sincere condolences!

I was a student at Augustana College when Dale was in charge of security. There were a few nights I was in the coffee shop way past the operating hours of the ACES shuttle service. Dale drove me home twice so I wouldn't have to walk across campus alone. He was always friendly and greeted us with a smile. My deepest sympathies.
