Dennis Lee Jacobs

Dennis L. Jacobs, 58, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January, 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A memorial visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Dennis was born in Rock Island on August 4, 1958, son of Fred and Joyce Fox Jacobs.  He married Susan Dusenberry on October 20, 1990 at the Rock Island Conservation Club on Big Island.

Dennis worked in the construction business for most of his career.  He also spent some time doing maintenance work for St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.

Dennis was an avid fisherman and camper.  He was a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan Jacobs, Rock Island; children, Jessica Jacobs, Janesville, Wis., Benjamin Jacobs, Moline, Lisa (Darin) Nordeen, Valparaiso, Ind., Michael (Andrea) Jones, Colona, Richard (Rebecca) Jones, Colona and Kelley (Alan) Phelps, Silvis; grandchildren, Nichole and Tyler Nordeen, Jake Jones, Sami Sansale, Shelbi, Jaeleigh and Justin Sappington, Heaven and Tanya Phelps, Raven Perez, Breanna and Laken Jones and Joshua Vrieswyk; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Coraline Jones, Jordan Sodeman, Giovanni and Elyana Campos, Alannah Coutts, Hayden and Gracie Vrieswyk, Joshua Vrieswyk Jr., Hunter and Kylee Newton, Kash Sansale and Sheldon Speaker; brothers, David, Daniel and Donald Jacobs and Robert Trask; and sister, Renee Mathews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
