Stephen Hunt Obituary

                Stephen J. Hunt, 80, of Milan, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 12, 2020.  He passed away at OSF Richard J. Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL.

                 Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL. Following visitation, a funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The funeral service will also be livestreamed and may be viewed at  https://www.wheelanpressly.com/milan-live-stream.   All visitors will be required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL.

                Steve was born on March 25, 1940 to Joseph and Mildred (Haines) Hunt in Mystic, IA.  He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958 and joined the U.S. Army in 1962, as a paratrooper and photographer.  He married Dixie L. Terry on June 16, 1963.  Steve was a very hard worker all his life.  He worked for Pepsi Co, owned Dixieland Donuts, while also working for JI Case, finally retiring from Case IH in 1992. 

                Many of his great joys included spending time with family and friends, arguing, drinking Pepsi, WWF wrestling, popcorn, and his dog, “little man” Wrigley.

                Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife of 57 years, Dixie Hunt, Milan; children, Stephani (Mark) Doonan, Reynolds, IL, Ronda Hunt, Milan, IL, Rynae (Ron) Alt, Shawnee, KS, and Stephen (Rena) Hunt, Taylor Ridge, IL; grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Galesburg, IL, Ashleigh (Brandon) Minick, Norway, IA, Alex and Zach Alt, both of Shawnee, KS; great grandchildren, Camryn and Liam Davis, Galesburg, IL and Gunner and Spencer Minick, Norway, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Hunt and his brothers, Richard and Bob Hunt.
