Peggy G Stoner

Peggy G. Stoner (September 26, 1938 - January 16, 2026), a resident of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away at the age of 87 after complications from surgery.  She was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Elmer and Elsie (Brown) Brant.  She graduated from Iowa City High School in 1956.  While married to Gerald "Jerry" Stoner, she cared lovingly for their home and family.

Later in life, Peggy followed her passion for music and dance.  She danced the night away with perfect rhythm and joy at every chance.

She is survived by her children, Teresa “Teri” Schrader, Julie (Tom) Stoner-Meyer, Lizabeth “Liz” (Larry) Wilson, and Richard “Rick” Stoner; grandchildren, Mandy Hayes, Sarah Conyers, Carly Hux, Steven Hux, and Travis Blecher; great-grandchildren, Xavier Meyer, Everett and Adeline “Addy” Conyers; and siblings, Barbara “Barbie" Krall and William “Bill” Brant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Emily "Kay" Starbuck.

Peggy was loved and cherished by family and friends, and will be deeply missed.

No services are planned. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
