Kimberly Ann Ross, 64, Rock Island, IL passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. There will be a visitation from 2-5:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to On the Run Pet Rescue.

Kim was born on June 28, 1961, to Harold and Wanda (Kinnan) Fordham in Rock Island. She attended Rock Island High School and then entered the workforce. Kim served as the cook for Skip-a-Long Childcare Center for over 30 years.

On September 26, 1992, she was united in marriage to James Ross. They made their home in Rock Island and loved going on motorcycle trips.

Kim enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers. She was a music lover who went to countless concerts of local and national bands. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She adored her kids, and hanging with her granddog, Nell.  She told everyone she met how proud she was of her grandson, Zachary.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 33 years, Jim; mother, Wanda Fordham; children, Eileen (Preston) Wallace and Emylee Ross; grandson, Zachary Wallace; siblings, Brenda Ashby, Scott (Linda Vlahovich) Fordham, Holly (Arlen) Baetke, Gregory (Mary Jo) Fordham, and Bart (Theresa) Fordham; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
