John “Wes” Graham, 57, of Colona, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, January 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Moline, Illinois, Wes was the youngest of five children to Donald and Frances “Addie” Graham, raised in Shady Brook, southwest Rock Island. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1986.
Wes was united in marriage on November 24, 2001, to his wife and soulmate, Lauri (Remour) Graham. Wes was a dedicated husband who adored his wife and all of their moments together, big and small.
Wes was a devoted father to Haley Moody (Tyler), Alexandra Graham (Brennan Johnson), Madison “Belle” Graham, and Wesley Graham, as well as an incredibly proud grandfather to Hazel, Felix, and Forrest Moody and Desmond and Eleanor “Ellie” Johnson. Wes was happiest when his family was together.
Wes was loved by his siblings, Mary Templeton (Ed), Donna Graham, Katherine Irwin (Clinton), and Donald “Keith” Graham. His family grew larger after his beautiful marriage and he will be missed by Lisa Stewart (Leonard), Lila “Lorraine” Remour, Jeremy Remour (Jennifer), and Jamie Scott (Steven “Beav”). He will be missed by close friends Leroy Schavers (Rebecca “Becky”) and Larry Snider (Stephanie), and many other dear friends who became family. Wes was preceded in death by his father, Donald K. Graham, Sr., and his mother, Frances “Addie” Graham. We take comfort in knowing Addie and her baby, Wes, are together again.
Wes was known for his quick, sharp, sarcastic wit, love of cooking and grilling, and family-famous lasagna. He enjoyed playing cards, watching movies and WWE, and spending time floating in the pool with family and friends with a beer in hand. He will be remembered for his incredible passion for music, unwavering support for the Nebraska Cornhuskers – Go Big Red!, and what he referred to as his “useless knowledge”.
A memorial service for Wes’s life will be held at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Lauri Graham to establish a college fund for his son, Wesley.
