Helen L. Ehmen, 87, of Andalusia, IL, passed away Wednesday April 14, 2021 at home.
Private family services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, (a recording will be available for viewing following services on her obituary at wheelanpressly.com). Burial will be in Andalusia Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the funeral home. Those attending are to observe current public gathering guidelines. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.
Helen was born November 26, 1933 in Schuyler County, Illinois, a daughter of John D. and Gertrude Beebe Grafton. She married Lowell R. Ehmen on December 16, 1951 in Bowen, IL. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1994.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Helen owned and operated Helen’s House of Beauty in her home in Andalusia for twenty years.
She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, and was active in the P.T.A. when her children were younger. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crafts and bowling.
Surviving are her children, Deborah Fausett, Muscatine, IA, Randy Ehmen, Taylor Ridge, IL, Cindy (Ron) Fersch, Davenport, IA, and Gail (Raymond) Jefferson, Andalusia; grandchildren, Lachelle (Jay) Reische, Erin Ehmen, Rebecca (Kevin) Brown, Megan Jefferson (fiancé, Matthew Rednour), and Matthew (Amanda) Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Dalton, and Kalli Reische, Donovan Ehmen, Emma Bailey, Andrew Eberts, Carson Brown, Lucas Fersch, and Ophelia Jefferson; many nieces, nephews and additional family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Ronnie Fersch, Jr.; brothers, Cletus and Melvin Grafton; and her sister, Eileen Gorsuch.
