Cheryl L. (Coverdill) Johnson

Cheryl Lee Johnson, 73, of Fyre Lake in Sherrard, passed away Friday September 23, 2022 at Cedarhurst Memory Care, Moline, after a long battle with dementia.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 12:00pm to 4:00pm Friday October 21, 2022 at the Sherrard Fire Station. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Sherrard Public Library. Private inurnment was in Sherrard Cemetery.

Cheryl was born on February 24, 1949 in Moline, the daughter of Bob and Bette (Lewis) Coverdill. She married Dennis Johnson on June 22, 1968 in Moline.

She had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years last working with McGladrey & Pullen.

Cheryl was a kind soul who was cherished by all who knew her. She was well known for her baking and cooking, especially around Christmas. Cheryl loved entertaining family and friends, sewing and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis; siblings, Linda (Ed) Claeys, Moline, Carey (Rita) Coverdill, East Moline, Brock (Ruth) Coverdill, Colona; sister in law, Karen Johnson, Lake of the Ozarks; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Bette; brothers, Kenneth Coverdill, Bob Coverdill Jr. and brother in law, David Johnson.
