William "Little Bit" Donelson

William “Littlebit” Donelson Jr. 70, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday June 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Littlebit accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Morning View Baptist Church in Eads, TN. Two weeks prior to his death he recommitted his life to Christ. He attended Fayette County High School in Somerville, TN. He moved to the Quad Cities in 1966.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 6, 2019 at House of Fire Ministries, Rock Island at 11:00am. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:30AM until service time. Memorials may be left to the family.

Littlebit was born on December 9, 1948 in Eads, TN., the son of William and Alice (Holiday) Donelson Sr. Littlebit was a long-time employee at Swords Foundry and later retired from Miller’s containers in Milan, IL. He loved spending time with his family and friends as well as fishing and hunting.

Those left to cherish his memory include his 4 children: Ramsey (Melissa) Allison of Chandler, Arizona; Leslie Allison of Chandler, Arizona; Victoria (Todd) Buelow of Dubuque, Iowa and Carletta (Lee) Nesmith of Rock Island, Illinois. 11 grandchildren: Davis, Brooklyn, Westin, Kumari, Vondae, Toni, Fontae, Ashley, Asha, Davarea and Naashon.

Siblings include: Willa Mae Simon, San Diego, CA; Permetra Morrow, Rock Island, IL; Clarice (Charles) Miller, Rock Island, IL; Dorothy Jean (Walter) Hayslett Davenport, Iowa; Eara (Merritt) Caples Davenport, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ethel Mae Hester and Donitha Harrington, and three brothers Robert, Charles, and Ervie Donelson.
