Sean Lawhorn Obituary

Sean K. Lawhorn, 51, of Rock Island, Ill., passed away Sunday May 12, 2019 at his home.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, Ill., with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities.

Sean was born September 7, 1967 in Peoria, Ill. He was a son of Landon Buck Lawhorn and Flora Dowell Lawhorn. He graduated from Black Hawk Area Special Education, and worked at ARC of the Quad Cities.

Sean never met a stranger. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and enjoyed watching his sister and nieces play softball. He enjoyed traveling in the family motorhome, 4th of July celebrations, and going to the Trucker’s Jamboree.

Surviving are his mother, Flora, of Rock Island; siblings, Kathryn (Dan) Miller, Rock Island, Ill., Stephen (Bonnie) Lawhorn, Coal Valley, Ill., David (Diann) Lawhorn, Keithsburg, Ill., and Carrie (Edward) Hamilton, Milan, Ill.; sister-in-law, Carole Lawhorn, Florida; thirteen nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Sean was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Randall Lawhorn.
