Robert L. Kerres

Robert L. Kerres, 90, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Memorial services for Mr. Kerres will be 6:00 pm, Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Moline Church of Christ. Robert was born on October 15, 1928 in Rock Island, a son of Morris and Beatrice (Branner) Kerres. He married Ruth Ingram on May 16, 1952 in Rock Island. Robert worked as a machinist at J.I. Case Company, Rock Island for almost 40 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Moline Church of Christ. Robert enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; children, Betty (Rich) Brems, Montgomery, Illinois, Jeff (Jody) Kerres, Milan; grandchildren, Brian (Genna) Brems, Kelly Kerres (Sara Lucas), Michael Kerres, A.J. Brems; great grandchildren, Kaleix Lucas and Jordan Kerres; and a brother, John “Pete” (Elizabeth) Kerres, Rock Island.
