Gregory M. Greer

Gregory M. Greer, 62, of Milan, went to be at home with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  A funeral service will be 10 am Saturday at Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 38th Street, Rock Island.  Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Cremation rites to follow services.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Gregory was born on August 11, 1956 in Moline, Ill., a son of Marc and Gretchen Pritchard Greer.  Greg graduated from Rock Island High School in 1974.  He married Joy Bausch in August of 1979 at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Greg worked for Roadway Express for 2 ½ years.  He then pursued a career in fitness products that involved designing, manufacturing and selling weightlifting bars, weights, machines and high intensity fitness products.

Greg’s passion was helping others and seeing people come to the realization of their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  His love for his family and friends was lived out fully and intentionally.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joy Greer, Milan; son, Jason Greer and his fiancé, Kathryn Fowler, Milan; daughter, Amanda (Abram) Braden, Chesterton, IN; granddaughters, Addisyn, Hannah and Kayla; brother, John Greer, New Windsor; two brothers-in-law and their spouses; and ten nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Deana Greer.
