I met Elaine at Friendship Manor after my mother, Ruth Anderson, moved there in Aug., 2016. My parents were very good friends on the farm with Harold and Norma Olson. And Mother had connected with Elaine and Ruth a few times, after my parents moved to Rock Island and quit farming. Immediately after moving in, my sisters, my mother, and I all enjoyed eating in the Bistro with Elaine and Ruth. And in the past 1 1/2 yrs. whenever I visit my mother and eat in the Bistro, if Elaine is there, which she often was, she would be so friendly and welcoming. And then I noticed she welcomed so many of the other residents. She would hold our hands, or touch our shoulders, and ask how we were and then give us some compliment. I will truly miss seeing her sitting at the Bistro. She was so sharp and we had many things to talk about - travel, the Olsons, the menu, etc. The last time i saw her, Gail and her daughter and granddaughter had just been up for a visit. She was so happy to share that experience with us. She described the 4 year old, and how she danced around. What a blessing that she got to see them before she passed.
She will be missed by many! My condolence to the family,
Joan Rinner

Elaine was a sweet lady to talk too. I had the privilege to talk with her from time to time. She was a great sister to Ruth. She always made sure that Ruth was being taken care of. God gained a wonderful women. May she rest in peace.

I first met "Aunt Elaine" at Mark and Stephanie's wedding in 1996. She was such a delightful sweet lady and very easy to get to know.
My condolences go out to the family as I know an empty space has been created. May you experience God's grace and comfort.

To the family, my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. As you cope with your loss, may you be comforted by the "Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort" (2 Cor 1:3) that one day, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." (John 5:28, 29) May these promises from God's word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

I was saddened to see Elaine's obituary in today's paper. I met Elaine when she hired me to do some interior painting at her condo when she lived a couple of blocks south of K-mart in Moline.
She was such a sweetheart. If God lets me in, I am certain I will have a chance to say hello again in the heavenly afterlife! My sympathies to her family.
