| Bernice A. Aten-Hollenbeck, 87, Rock Island, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those wishing to attend the graveside services should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island by 2 pm. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bernice was born July 4, 1923 in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of William Jeffries and Anna Kanary Jeffries. She married Lawrence Aten, he preceded her in death. Later
she married Merle Hollenbeck he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Susan Strauss and companion, Dennis Wendt, Rock Island, Laura and Danny Lemasters, Missouri, Jeffery and Lynn Aten, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Drease, Phylis Christensen; brother, William Jeffries.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; husband,
