| Lorraine V. Shay, 87, of Rock Island, passed away Monday July 19, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Marriage Encounter.
Lorraine was born on July 18, 1923 in Davenport, the daughter of Carl and Bertha Ehlers. She married Richard “Dick” Shay on September 8, 1978 in Rock Island.
Mrs. Shay was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf, Marriage Encounter, Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities and Women’s choice Center, Bettendorf.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, spending winters in Arizona and her dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; children and spouses, Cheryl and Howard Johnson, Galesburg; Billy and Debbie Feldhahn, Long Grove; step children and spouses, Thomas and Connie Shay, Michigan, Cathy Scott, Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step son, Mark Shay; brother, William Ehlers; sister, Phillis Hawkins and mother in law, Helen Knapp. | |
