Carol M. Biehl, 94, of Rock Island, formerly of East Moline, died Wednesday,
July 14, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services will be 10 am Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in
Rose Lawn Estates, Moline. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
Carol was born on January 4, 1916 in Rock Island, the daughter of John Schneider and Vera Champion Schneider. She married Harry D. Biehl on July 27, 1935 in Dixon, IL; he preceded his wife in death on December 7, 1993. Mrs. Biehl worked for the Rock Island/Milan School District as the cafeteria manager at Central Junior High, retiring in 1960. Earlier she owned and operated her own catering business and had also worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II in tank production. Carol was a member of South Park Presbyterian Church,
Rock Island and the former Mill Creek Country Club, Milan. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing Bridge and craft work.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Susan and William Leatherman, East Moline, Tom and Diane Biehl, East Moline; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; daughter in law, Jeanette Biehl, Cumming, Georgia.
Mrs. Biehl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; son, Harry “Pete” Biehl; brother, Jack Schneider; sister, Dorothy Stein. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com
