| Joseph David Kenter, beloved Uncle, Great Uncle and Great-Great Uncle passed away July 13, 2010 from complications of hip surgery resulting from a fall. Born February 16, 1920 to the late Benjamin and Sophie Kenter, Joe was raised in Rock Island, Illinois, where he attended Rock Island High School. A World War II veteran, Joe served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corps, in Asia, North Africa and Europe. After he was honorably discharged on September 5th, 1945, Joe returned to Rock Island where he worked for the family business, Louis Rich Foods, with his Uncle, Louis Rich, his brother, Alex Kenter and his cousins Norman and Martin Rich. Joe moved to Dallas in 1976 working with Foods, a division of Sara Lee Corporation. Until his death, Joe was an avid reader, follower of current events, financial markets, as well as a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. Although Joe never married, he was devoted to the children of his brother, nephews Michael Kenter, and wife Judith, Ben Kenter, and wife Lisa, nieces Pamela Kenter Feldman, and husband Marvin, the late Karen Kenter Blumberg and Jone Kenter Burkey, and husband Bill. He was also very close, and will be greatly missed by Great Nephews Ryan and Jordan Kenter, Beau and Jonathan Rothschild and Great Nieces Ruth Feldman Dubner, Rachel and Zarah Kenter Blumberg, Brittany and Samantha Kenter, and two great-great nephews, Jake Dubner and Chase Kenter, and a great-great niece Caroline Kenter. Joe also remained very close to cousins Norman and Martin Rich. His family will miss his great sense of humor, and especially his recounting of the many wonderful times he had growing up in Rock Island with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Tri City Jewish Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.
