| Roland R. Lewison, 69, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the
Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services for Mr. Lewison will be 9:00 am
Saturday at the Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 pm Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 – 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund that will be established at a later date.
Roland was born January 13, 1941 in Vermillion, South Dakota, the son of Reynold Lewison and Gladys Nogle Lewison. He married Aileen Kent on June 21, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Lewison worked for McLaughlin Body Co., Moline as an inspector. Later he worked for Burns International Security as a supervisor at the John Deere Administration Building, retiring in 1993. Roland was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, computers, electronics, cooking, playing the harmonica and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Aileen; children and their spouses, Roger and Cindy Lewison, Rock Island, Lori and Roger Schutte, Davenport, Terri and Richard Ragsdale, Rock Island, Cindy and Jay Tyler, Marshall, Michigan, Cathy and Frank Jacobs, Moline; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Rodney Lewison, Sioux City, Iowa; mother in law, Florence Kent, Moville, Iowa.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Lewison. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.wheelanpressly.com
