Donis M. Van Iseghem, 79, of Taylor Ridge, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Edgington Presbyterian Church. Burial is at Edgington Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edgington Presbyterian Church or to the Edgington Cemetery Association.
Donis Hughes was born on December 6, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas, a daughter of Jesse and Thelma Vincent Hughes. She married George Van Iseghem on June 22, 1952 in Rock Island. He died on September 7, 2009.
She was a member of the Edgington Presbyterian Church, where she had served as Sunday school superintendant and teacher, was an Elder and a Deacon. She was also a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter. Donis had been active in the P.T.A. and was a former 4-H leader.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Thode, Bettendorf; sons, Robert Van Iseghem and Richard Van Iseghem, both of Taylor Ridge and Joseph Van Iseghem, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Jesse, Sara, Thomas and Justin Van Iseghem, all of Orion and Jason Schreckengost, Kyle, Tx.; and great grandchildren, Marissa, Niccole and Tristan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Karla Kunzman; and brother, Gwyn Hughes.
