| Jean C. McFarland, 85, of Milan, passed Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home. Graveside services will be 11 am Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Andover Township Cemetery, Andover, IL. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E.
4th Avenue, Milan is assisting the family.
Jean was born June 11, 1924 in London, England, the daughter of
John H. Nixon, Sr. and Jane Catherine Nixon. She married Dale E.
McFarland on January 26, 1945 in London. He preceded his wife in death in October 21, 1995. Mrs. McFarland was a homemaker. Earlier during World War II she had worked as a seamstress making uniforms in London during the height of the German Luftwaffe Bombing raids, in which her younger brother, John H, Nixon, Jr. was killed. Jean was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Rock Island. She enjoyed playing BUNCO and knitting.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Deb and Randy Rogers, Milan, Darrell and Sylvia McFarland, Yukon, Oklahoma,
Brenda Gallagher, Davenport; grandchildren, Erin Rogers, Tabitha
McFarland, Tamara Shelby, Brent Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher; great grand children, Megan, Morgan and Chase.
