| Earnestine Roberts, 65, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Friday June 11, 2010, at Trinity, Rock Island, after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and her children as she began her next journey.
Per her wishes there will be an informal memorial service on Thursday June 17, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL. Following the memorial service, a private family inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.
Earnestine was born October 17, 1944, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Roy Smith and Reola Bailey Smith, whom both preceded her in death, along with her brother, Andrew Jett, and grandson, Brandon Roberts.
Earnestine was a devoted and loving wife to husband, Curtis, for 34 years, and a wonderful mother to daughters, Sheila, Gwen (Willie), Diana, Pam, Rosalind (Bill), and Denise.
The greatest joy in her life came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
