| Joseph A. Phelps, 65, of Rock Island, died Friday June 11, 2010, at his home.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island.
Joseph was born May 6, 1945, in Pope County, IL, a son of Raymond A. Phelps and Edith M. Bowman Phelps.
He enjoyed attending First Church of the Nazarene, watching old-time TV shows, watching the traffic from his porch, and tinkering with projects at home.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Foda Phelps, Rock Island; nephews, Tim (Paula) Phelps and Alan Phelps, all of Colona; niece, Tamara (David) Spaulding, Rock Island; ten grand- nephews and grand-nieces; two great grand-nephews; one great grand-niece; and several other relatives.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents.
