Corinne Colclasure, 75, a lifelong resident of Rock Island, ended her long, difficult battle with cancer late Sunday night. She was surrounded by her husband and children as she began her next journey. Corinne was a devoted and loving wife to husband Ernie, and a wonderful mother to sons Mike Colclasure and his wife Amanda of Davenport, Scott and wife Kate of Augusta and daughter Cindy and her partner Bill Reed of North Augusta. Corinne and Ernie were married on January 11, 1953 at the Church of Peace in Rock Island. Corinne was an avid gardener, shopper, Chicago Bulls fan, and a lifelong diehard Cub fan. She was a very valuable and active member of the Church of Peace, where she served on many committees and councils including President of the Martha Rolf circle and President of the Women’s Guild. She also was member and past President of Y Wives (Ladies Day Out), a volunteer driver for many years for the American Cancer Society and World Relief organizations, as well as a volunteer for Niabi Zoo. She enjoyed bowling for many years. Corinne and Ernie spent many seasons watching fast pitch softball at Douglas Park in Rock Island, as well as attending many outdoor music events in the Quad Cities. She also enjoyed having backyard parties and cooking up a feast for friends and families. The greatest joy in her life came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved to travel to see. The grandchildren she leaves behind are John Kane of Augusta, GA, Michael Kane of Las Vegas, Ashley Kane of New York, Dennis and Erik Colclasure of Davenport, Stacey Readout in Tampa, and Elizabeth Colclasure in Raleigh, NC.
