Bernice C. Campbell, 80, of Rock Island, passed away Friday June 4, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
A memorial service will be held 11:00a.m., Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island.
Bernice was born on June 19, 1929 in Rock Island, the daughter of Lee and Mona “Wells” Ankney. She married Edward D. Campbell in September 4, 1947 in Yuma, AZ.
Mrs. Campbell had been employed by the former Hedberg Office Equipment, Moline for over 14 years until her retirement in 1991.
Bernice was a member of the former Memorial Heights United Methodist Church, which merged with Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island.
She loved spending time with friends and family, reading and participating in church activities. She also enjoyed puzzles, Scrabble and in her earlier years was on numerous bowling leagues.
Bernice is survived by her children and their spouses, Phylis and Tony Pecoraro, Bettendorf, Michael and Joyce Campbell, Lenoir City, TN, Patrick and Svetlana Campbell, Rock Island; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Haines, TX.; brothers, Donald Ankney, FL. and Richard Pinkard, TX.
She was preceded in death by her, husband; parents; sister, Mary Hill and a great grandson.
