C. Lee Beattie, 39, of Harpers Ferry, WV, passed away Saturday May 29, 2010, in an automobile accident as he was traveling through Bunker Hill, WV. Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL. Burial with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and additional visitation one hour prior to services Thursday. Carins Lee Beattie was born December 12, 1970, in Rock Island, IL, a son of Karins Lee Beattie and Sandra Grace Sweet Beattie. Lee served in the U.S. Army for 12 years. Since 2002, he was a Satellite Communications Expert with Orbital, Dulles, VA. He loved golfing and volleyball. He was a member of the All-Army Volleyball Team and played nationally. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are his mother, Sandra Barr, Lake Orion, MI; brother, David Harley Beattie, Dallas, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lee is preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
