J. Sue Klawon, 59, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday May 19, 2010, at Trinity Rock Island. Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Interment will be at Benton County Memorial Park, Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a Christian wake service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, 1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA 52803. Janice Sue Klawon was born May 18, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark., a daughter of Robert Ervin Brewer and Velma Lee Shires Brewer. She married Thomas D. “Dike” Klawon on September 25, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Ark. Sue currently worked at KMART in Rock Island, where she had been the most successful associate for their credit card promotion. In earlier years, she worked at the Profit Recovery Group, Bentonville, for 10 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her beautiful smile and wonderful personality. Her family and loved ones were a central part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all. Sue was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, embroidery, and quilting. Surviving are her husband, Thomas “Dike” Klawon, Rock Island; daughter, Jennifer Sebastian, and her husband Brad, Bettendorf, IA; stepchildren, Jim Klawon, and his significant other Beccy Harris, Rock Island, and Jennifer Klawon, and her significant other, Rob Phillips, Rock Island; grandchildren, Chase Sebastian, Maya Spinosa, and Oceana Sebastian; sister, Ann Jacobs, and her husband Van, Bentonville; brothers, Charles Brewer and Don Brewer, both of Bentonville; mother-in-law, Alvera “Red” Klawon, Rock Island; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Billy Brewer, and her father-in-law, Jim Klawon.
