John Darrel Blaser, 42 of Rock Island, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice, or Lied Transplant Center, Omaha,NE
Mr. Blaser was born September 10, 1965 in Moline, the son of Darrel M. and Joan Bliss Blaser. He worked as an electrician for Tri-City Electric Co., Davenport. He was a member of IBEW #145, a pass member of Ducks Unlimited, Milan Rifle Club and Rock Island County Conservation Club. He was affiliated with Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church. John loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors, he was an Illini fan and he loved spending time with his family, nieces and nephew.
He is survived by his mother, Joan Blaser, Rock Island; sisters and brothers-in-law, Aletha and Fred Williams, Taylor Ridge, Amy and Rev. Michael Finley, Galesburg; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Kathie Blaser, Milan; nieces, Jessica Williams, Sara Bushnell, Alyson Blaser and Baylee Blaser; nephew, Airius Blaser; 2 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews; aunt and her husband, Dorothy and Roger Albert. He was preceded by his father, Darrel, grandparents, Sidney and Elizabeth “Bess” Blaser, Taylor Ridge, Wilbur and Lois Bliss, Yates City, IL, uncle, John Bliss.
