| Carl E. Hallin, 93, of Sugar Land, Tex., formerly of West Des Moines, Iowa and Rock Island, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 in Sugar Land.
Funeral services and burial will be Saturday at Resthaven Cemetery and Chapel, West Des Moines.
Carl was born Sept. 3, 1914 in Rock Island, a son of Enoch and Hildur Swanson Hallin. He married Dorothy Zude on Oct. 23, 1938 in Rock Island.
He was retired from Deere & Co., Ankeny, Iowa. In early years he worked for the J.I. Case Co., Rock Island.
Carl was an avid painter and enjoyed sharing his paintings with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Karen Neasham, Sugar Land; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte Pressly, Rock Island, Doris Davidson, Sioux Falls, SD, Margaret and John Powers, Rock Island and Norma and Frank Talboom, Rock Island and a sister-in-law, Norma Hallin, Fairfax, VA. He was preceded in death by a son, Lanny Hallin and brothers, Ralph and Glen Hallin.
