Francis W. Inch, Sr., 90, a resident of Park Vista, East Moline and formerly of Rock Island, died Tues., Feb. 19, 2008 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. by Trio Lodge 57 A.F. & A.M. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Mr. Inch was born on Sept. 6, 1917 in Rock Island, the son of George and Vera Morris Inch. He married Evelyn M. McCulley on Sept. 2, 1938 in Davenport.
Francis was an inventory management specialist and supervisor at the Rock Island Arsenal for 32 years. He retired in 1972. In earlier years he worked at the former Rock Island Sash and Door Works.
He was a W.W. II Navy veteran. Fran was a longtime Quad City softball and baseball player and played football for the former Quad City Mohawks. He was a member of Memorial Christian Church and Trio Lodge 57 A.F. & A.M., Rock Island. Fran was also a member of the Moline Elks and the Knights Templar. He enjoyed square dancing and round dancing.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Kerofsky, Moline and Nancy Fitzgerald, Austin, Tex.; sons and a daughter-in-law, Francis and Nancy Inch, Jr., Mission, Tex. and Terry Inch, Moline; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and special friends, Jean and Duane Longtimm, Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lovedy Inch.
