| James R. Ende, 66, of Rock Island, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice,
Bettendorf, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will held Saturday at the Garret Gallery,
1808-7th Avenue, Rock Island, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the gallery. In lieu of flowers memorials
may be made to Pathway Hospice. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jim was born February 21, 1941 in Rock Island the son of Albert H. and Jane I. Bridges Ende. He married
Susan E. Habben on January 1, 1996 in Quincy, IL. Mr. Ende was the Owner/Operator, of Ende Roofing
of the Quad Cities, for over 50 years.
Jim was a member of the Rock Island High School Class of 1959. His memberships included the
Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Jim was an outdoors person; he enjoyed nature, camping, fishing and was a gifted and accomplished woodworker. Jim also loved to renovate older homes.
Survivors include his wife, Susan “Sue” Ende; mother, Jane Ende, Rock Island; his children and their
spouses, Angie and Bob Hamilton, Atkinson; Ron and Karen Ende, Rock Island; Terry Ende, Morrison; Debra Ende, De Soto, MO; Curt and Ellen Mumpower, Quincy; Cathy Codd, Quincy; eight grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; sisters and spouse, Nancy and Larry Dean, Weslaco, TX; Mary Benhart, Rock
Island; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ende was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter, Carye Sue Mumpower.
