Francis E. Poline, 81 of Milan, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Mr. Poline was born July 7, 1926 in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Frank and Ida Schafer Poline. He married Rose Plemons, January 17, 1969 in Missouri. She died January 27, 1996. Francis worked for the Ralston Purina Company, Davenport for 33 years before retiring. He was a Navy veteran serving during WW II. He enjoyed playing the piano along with painting. He also loved his dog Trudy. Survivors include, daughter and her spouse, Linda and Ronald Minnick, Andalusia; step-son, Thomas E. Foster, Knoxville, TN; grandson, John Minnick and his fiancé, Vicki; sister and spouse, Martha and Don Flack, Cedar Rapids, IA; brother and spouse, Merle and Penny Campbell, California along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his mother and step-father and his father.
